Apple has just announced its latest phones, the iPhone 17 series. That is three upgrades to familiar models and also the all-new iPhone Air, which is replacing the iPhone Plus. If lining up in a queue on release day isn’t really your style, and you still want to get your hands on one at the earliest opportunity, you'll be able to place a pre-order for the iPhone 17, 17 Pro Max, 17 Pro or iPhone Air from 10pm AEST on September 12, before the September 19th release date.
The iPhone 17 has a fresh design with a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and narrower edges. And after much anticipation (and a fair bit of grumbling), the base iPhone 17 finally has a a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, Apple’s new A19 chip is more powerful as well as more optimized, particularly when paired with Apple Intelligence. If you're upgrading from an older iPhone, you will see a huge jump in speed and better gaming performance courtesy of ProMotion.
On the camera front, you'll find a 48MP Fusion main camera (shooting 24MP photos by default) as well as a 2x telephoto lens. The device’s ultra-wide camera also gets an upgrade to 48MP, making macro photography crisper and much more impressive.
